Whilst in The Den your child will be free to choose from the many and varied activities
provided both indoors and outside.
Quiet Area - encourages the children to look at
books, share them with their friends and begin to develop their reading skills.
Creative
Activities - these offer the children the chance to use glue, to make pictures, cards,
models: to make and use finger puppets; to use play dough, plastering and clay and
also cook. We also encourage the children to safely use the appropriate tools to
complete these activities. The children can also take an active part in musical sessions,
singing, dancing and playing instruments and listening to a variety of music.
We also
provide the opportunity for the children to play either on their own or together
with a variety of small world toys for example people, dolls house, figures, trains
and cars etc….
We also allow for the children to play freely with jigsaws and games
and develop their fine motor skills by threading and using scissors through various
activities.
Writing Area - offers the children the opportunity to develop their drawing and writing
skills.
Home Corner - allows the children to develop their social skills and their
acting ability in the home, the hairdressers, the travel agents…It can also be an
opportunity to dress up.
Computer - the children have access to computers so that
they are able to develop their skills using a mouse and keyboard.
Outside - all of the outside toys/activities are planned and vary day to day, encouraging
the children to develop physically and socially. We aim to offer the children the
same type of activities as inside.
All activities are provided within a safe and stimulating
environment and are supervised by staff that are qualified and have many years of
experience.
